Amazon India Fashion Week Has Been Dazzled By Many Bollywood Celebrities

Be honest with yourself. When was the last time you attended or watched a fashion show and did not expect a celebrity to show up? A dress might be special in a lot, but it’s worth is not proven unless it stands out. And what could be a better way to stand out then getting it endorsed by a starry-eyed newsmaker.

Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) is no different. When the theme of a five day gala is ‘India’s Modern Festive,’ how can Bollywood presence stay behind? Now Bollywood is full of newsmakers, good looking newsmakers who raise the glamour quotient wherever they go. And this particular fashion show recognizes Bollywood’s potential for putting up a good show. AIFW Autumn/Winter 2016 highlighted well known faces like Malaika Arora Khan and Athiya Shetty. And the Spring/Summer 2017 collection just followed the suit.

Bollywood sensation Ileana Dcruz bedazzled the ramp with the jewelry pieces designed by Abhishek Kankaria and Shruti Taparia. She wore a red tube neck gown contrasting the main highlight, the zircon studded necklace. The Kolkata-based jewelry brand exhibited a beautiful blend of classic and contemporary fashion and Ileana’s presence only added to the decoration. She admitted that this was the first time she wore a Whatever accessory and said that they make a very bold statement.

Singer Sona Mohapatra and actor Vidyut Jamwal also graced the audience with their presence. Sona was the showstopper for the label Virtues by Viral, Ashish and Vikrant. She wore a bright orange, layered dress made of “kotpad” with natural dye. Unlike Ileana, her act was full of drama and wit. She even sung a few lines of “Aaja ve”, live on the stage. Vidyut on the other hand, walked the ramp for designer Pawan Sachdeva, showcasing his new sporty yet comfortable collection. He created quite a stir in the audience with his jazzy entry.

Although the theme was “India Modern Festive”, overall there were many designers who presented a melange of traditional and trendy. While some of Felix Bendish designs were more like trendy fashionable anarkalis, Shalini James showcased elaborate ensembles of Mughal Attires based on traditional salwar kameez concept. Also there were Soltee by Sulakshana Monga and Pallavi Jaipur’s collection of experimented versions of conventional dress styles.

In general, the show staged a fusion of the old and new. And one glance at it will make you fall in love with the style. Well here’s good news. Gone are the days when people used to say that you can’t buy salwar kameez online in USA. Our catalogue not only provides a wide portfolio of A to Z fusions, it gives you an option to buy apparels like salwar kameez online in US and send them to your loved ones, back at home.
